Hey guys, it’s been a while since I’ve posted.. I say a while but it has been almost TWO months.
I really want to get back into my socials; WordPress, Instagram, etc. But life gets in the way sometimes and it’s important for me to focus on the most, let’s say, significant things in life. In the next couple of weeks I’m going to be writing a whole lot more and posting a whole lot more on my socials so keep an eye out. Anyway, into the life update…
In terms of mental health, I went down a very dark path and ended up stuck in a rut of depression. My duloxetine medication was doubled by my mental health nurse from 60mg to 120mg in November as I was really struggling to cope. As of right now, I’m feeling a little better and really trying to get back on my feet, stay positive and stay on track!
Since the announcement of lockdown 3.0 (I definitely saw it coming) I’ve honestly been doing so well. I have been at work full time for the past three weeks and I have been offered a permanent job at the school which is brilliant news because I absolutely adore this job. Working in a SENAD (special educational needs and disability) you tend to grow very close to members of staff, and become quite attached to the children you work with, offering emotional and physical support to one another. I never want to leave!
My car has completely failed on me, it seems to be one thing after another so I have decided to give up on my little Audi and get a new car. I will have it in the next two weeks, just before I turn 22! Looking on the bright side (as always) my car will be newer, nicer and possibly much faster lol.
I started reading again. I spontaneously ordered 5 mental health type books off Amazon and so far I have almost finished reading the first one “Reasons to Stay Alive” – by Matt Haig. I used to love a good book when I was younger, then I started working and going out getting drunk LOL, so I didn’t make time to read. I strongly recommend it though, it makes me feel sort of “accomplished” once I’ve read some pages of my book. And it’s another thing to tick of the old to-do-list.
I’ve also started exercising again! I exercise one day a week in my sisters gym and more often than not I’ll go for an hour walk straight from work. Although, my job is keeping me pretty active already. I am aiming for 11,000 – 20,000 steps per day.
Thanks for reading! I hope you’re staying safe and taking care of your mental and physical health despite the current circumstances.
Love,
Abby x
