And with that, I’m officially a Psychology graduate! (Well, I will be when I finally graduate in November, thanks coronavirus!) It has probably been the three most challenging years of my life.. it’s hard to try and concentrate on university with so much going on in your personal life, but here I am, graduating with a second class honors (first division) in psychology.

My greatest life achievement thus far and I’m so happy I got to the end of the full three years, after fighting with myself constantly about leaving or staying to complete my degree due to the pressure and my anxiety.

It was in my first year of uni that my anxiety developed, or more like, I finally got a diagnosis for my anxiety and started treatment after years of denying I had anything wrong… my attendance was probably less than 50% due to it, yet I still managed to get all of my work done and to a good standard and for that I am so proud of myself for getting through it!

I would say university is absolutely worth it for anyone of any age, and it is quite the experience.

I have now been freed into the big wide world – time to grow up lol! Not really… my studying hasn’t ended just yet. I am taking a gap year to save up enough money for a years worth of rent, to allow me to go on and study towards my masters degree in Manchester next year. I will be starting my new job as a TA in mid September, working with children with various developmental disabilities in a “special” (different) school.

I can’t wait for what the next chapter is going to hold. I’m super excited and super proud of myself. I will share my graduation photos in my (lovely) gown and cap when the time finally comes. But anyway, I think it’s time to let my hair down and get drunk (not that I haven’t been doing that every week since lockdown started!) I’m off for a double pink gin and lemonade (or 10)
